Adding Org members to teams

As an Org owner or team admin, you can add Org members to teams to give them access to a specific set of packages governed by the Org.

Note: An npm user must be a member of your Org before you can add them to a team. To add a member to your Org, see “Adding members to your Org”.

  1. Log in to npm with your user account. npm login dialog with username and password fields left blank
  2. In the upper right corner of the page, click your profile picture, then click Profile Settings. npm avatar menu with selector over profile settings list item
  3. In the left sidebar, click the name of your Org. example org selected in organizations list
  4. On the Org settings page, click Teams. teams tab
  5. Beside the team you want to add members to, click Members. members button
  6. In the “Username” field, type the npm username of the Org member you would like to add to your team. team member in username field dropdown
  7. Click + Add User. add user button

Note: Org members are not notified when they are added to a team. We recommend telling the Org member you have added them to a team.

Managing teams from the CLI

If you would like to manage the membership of your team from the command line interface (CLI), you can use:

npm team
